Ramsgate Community Cinema has a climate emergency double bill on Sunday, April 26. Presented by Chris Packham, The People’s Emergency Briefing outlines the implications of climate and nature collapse, as well as positive changes being made. It will be followed by The Minster Marshes, a short film made by 16-year-old Connor Carruthers. A panel discussion will follow the screenings. Check the website for further info.
The Catch seafood supper club returns next month. Taking over Gather& in Ramsgate on Friday, May 22, it will serve up a four course menu including gordal olives, anchovy and goat’s curd toast, spiced whole mackerel, and Tarta de Santiago. £40 per person.
Artist Sheila Rennicks opens her new solo exhibition Disco Disorder at The Lido Stores in Cliftonville on Saturday, April 25. The series of painting feature themes of femininity, motherhood, popular culture, and social media. There will be a private view on the 25th from 7-9pm. Find out more.
Head to Ramsgate Arts Club on Saturday, May 2 for the venue’s next club night, Stratospheric Sounds. DJs Jeff Levy and Darren Smart will be playing funk, jazz, latin, afrofunk and soulful dance floor grooves. Free entry.
The Broadstairs May Fair is set to take place from May 23-25, with a fun fair on Victoria Gardens, as well as local craft and other stalls along the prom. The event will raise money for Broadstairs Water Gala and Fireworks on Wednesday, July 29.
Windmill Community Gardens and coffee kiosk Flints are teaming up to launch Sea Cabbages. For five Tuesdays, starting on April 21, the Cabbage Patch activity group for under 7s will explore the coast and learn about the plants and animals that live along it. More info.
The Garden Gate Project up by Northdown Park will be holding its Spring Open Day on Saturday, May 9. The garden will be open from 1-4pm for all to enjoy. There will also be a plant sale and craft stalls, plus tea and coffee, homemade cakes and handmade pizza. Free entry.
The Brogdale Cider Festival returns this August Bank Holiday weekend. Taking place at Brogdale Farm in Faversham on August 29-30, there will be live music, tractor rides for kids, apple juicing, crafts, games and more. And cider, obviously. Adult tickets £15.
Sri Lankan food pop-up Friends of Foe will be back at Hoffs in Margate again on Saturday, May 2. Among the items on the menu will be coconut chicken satay skewers and brinjal curry. These always sell out, and this is set to be the last pop up until the end of the summer, so all the more reason to book fast. £28 per person.
The next Vaults Comedy will take place at Ramsgate Arts Club on Thursday, May 7. Headlining will be Funmbi Omotayo, with Sharon Whanjohi, Josh Elton and Erika Ehler also performing. Tickets £18.
Plant yourself an edible hanging basket at Pierremont Hall in Broadstairs on Sunday, May 17. Choosing from four basket options, you’ll also be given planting advice, recipe and care information. For an extra £5 you can also take part in a botanical cocktail making session. Mocktails and cocktails will also be on sale at the bar. Tickets £15.
The Balearic Boutique summer daytime party series returns later this month. It’s 2026 launch party will take place at The Sun Deck in Margate on Saturday, April 25. This will kick off a monthly residency running through to August, with visiting DJs including Justin Deighton, Nancy Noise, Terry Farley and Jo Mills. More info.
It’s World Book Night on Thursday, April 23. To mark the occasion, there will be a sunset reading party at Margate’s Nayland Rock Shelter from 5.30pm. Bring whatever you’re reading at the moment, or grab a book from the pile provided. Then hunker down and read with a beautiful sea view.
Smiths Townhouse in Broadstairs is offering an intimate small group healing session on Thursday, May 14 with Nanda Healing & Wellness. Atomica returns to Ramsgate Arts Club on Saturday, June 6. Having tackled the 80s in March, this time around the club night will be delivering 90s tunes all night. Expect Britpop anthems, dancefloor bangers and big pop hits. Free entry.
Son of Bagpuss creator Oliver Postgate, Simon Postgate will be giving a talk on the much loved children’s TV show at Beach Creative in Herne Bay on Friday, May 15. He’ll discuss the stop motion world of the show with pictures, film clips and personal memories. Tickets £10.
Marking Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22 join a walk along Kingsgate in Broadstairs exploring the geology, erosion, fossils and history of the bay. Suitable for adults and children over 11 years old, the walk led by Richard and Tina Hubbard will begin at 10am and last around two hours. Suggested donation £5.
The Ramsgate Handmade & Vintage Fair will be back on Ramsgate Harbour on Sunday, May 3. Find stalls selling textiles, glass, pottery, soaps, jewellery, art, plants and more. The market will take place every first Sunday of the month throughout the year.
