It was a real joy last Saturday to be invited to see Discover Planet receive their King’s Award for Voluntary Service at the Royal Temple Yacht Club in Ramsgate. It's such a huge recognition of the organisations amazing work to engage young people with Science.
It was also great to see to many familiar faces and meet some new ones too, while marvelling at the view across the harbour from the yacht club.
After the ceremony, we ducked into new new(ish) Union cafe for a lunch of lovely dhal - an experience improved by it being served to us by a nine year old boy in an excellent apron.
In this week's newsletter, we have an interview with interior designer Paul Andrews. After spending the last two years converting Margate Printworks, built in 1870, into his home and studio, he talked us through his process and making changes that respect the buildings more than 150 year history.
