Friday

Broadstairs Jazz Fest takes place from Friday to Sunday. All shows are free but you can support the event by buying a £2 programme at any of the 16 participating venues. 

A Botanical Journey: Plants, Potions & Perfume offers a unique way to experience the gardens at Quex Park’s Powell-Cotton Museum in Birchington on Friday. Tickets £15. 

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Thomas Ashby launches his new album Through Your Eyes at the Tom Thumb Theatre in Cliftonville on Friday. Tickets £12.

Folk experimentalists Lunatraktors have announced that they will play ARK in Cliftonville on Friday. Tickets £14.

Ramsgate Eco Market is at Arts in Ramsgate (46 High Street) on Saturday, October 10, 11am-3pm. 

Multidisciplinary artist Rieko hosts a four week ritual writing course at Turner Contemporary in Margate, starting on Saturday. Places £100 or £30 for individual sessions. 

It’s Banned Books Day on Saturday. Join a protest against censorship on the steps at Margate Main Sands at 11am. 

Les Beaux will be taking over Margate Arts Club on Saturday with DJs Nipslip, Constance Confetti and Sod O Mighty. Tickets £7.

Sunday

Sketchbook Club launches at the Royal Albion Hotel in Broadstairs on Sunday, offering an opportunity to create alongside and meet other people who love to draw. Free entry.
