Reece Shearsmith will be at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury on Sunday, October 4. The League of Gentlemen and Inside No. 9 co-creator will be showing off some of the gruesome objects he keeps in his private collection, which feature in his new illustrated memoir Things I Took from the Dark: The Museum of Me. The Sunken Garden Eco Fair 2026 is set to take place on Sunday, September 20. A day of workshops, talks and ideas for living in a more environmentally friendly way, this year’s focus will be on wildlife, ecology, gardening in dry conditions and sustainability. DJ Joe Corbani is offering free DJ lessons for kids in Broadstairs on August 19 and 26. Aimed at children aged 8-14, they’ll get hands-on experience with real DJ equipment and learn the basics of mixing. No prior experience necessary. DM Joe for more info.
Artist Clare Evans will be showing her new exhibition Stepmothers at The Romantic in Cliftonville on August 21-26, celebrating stepmothers and blended families. There will also be a number of events alongside it, including a drop-in portrait session for stepmothers who'd like to be added to the collection, life drawing, and a book talk from Claire Asherson Bartram. Crazy P’s James Barron will be performing live in his solo guise JIM at Faith in Strangers in Cliftonville on Friday, October 16. He'll perform songs from his 2023 debut Love Makes Magic as well as new material. Tickets £17.10.
Song in a Day returns to ARK in Cliftonville on Saturday, September 12. This time around, attendees will spend the day learning Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush with musicians Hughie Gavin and Steph Dickinson. Tickets £25.
The Palace cinema in Broadstairs will be screening David Byrne’s incredible American Utopia on August 22-23. Directed by Spike Lee, the concert film captures the former Talking Heads frontman’s 2019 Broadway show. Tickets £9.

The first Kent Radical Pride is set to take place in Dover on Saturday, August 29. Leaning into the protest side of Pride, the event aims to take place in a different Kent town each year. Dover has been chosen for the initial event, as it will be the only Pride event in the whole of the Dover district this year. Follow on Instagram for updates.
The Lemonheads are set to play Dreamland in Margate on Monday, September 28. Appropriate, following the release of their compilation The Lemonheads In Dreamland last year. Support will come from Willy Mason. Tickets £40.
The Free Association and Chump’s Comedy will be putting on an eight week improv comedy course at Margate’s Turner Contemporary this autumn. Starting on Sunday, September 27, the course is aimed at people who have some experience with improv already. Places £275.
