Makers House in Ramsgate has announced three new residential weekend workshops of the autumn. Punk Rock Pride will be holding an alt clothes swap at the Sarah Thorne Theatre in Broadstairs on Saturday, August 1 from 11am to 3pm. Bring along goth, punk and metal outfits you no longer want and exchange them for something fresh. There will also be customisation workshops throughout the day, so you can add studs, slogans, safety pins and more to your new clobber. 

How often have you wished there was a musical version of a Shakespeare play soundtracked by an entire Radiohead album? Well, it's finally here. Hamlet Hail To The Thief opens at the Barbican in London on Saturday, October 31, running until Saturday, January 27. Co-created by Thom Yorke and directors Christine Jones and Steven Hoggett, the show has already had sold out runs in Manchester and Stratford-upon-Avon. Tickets from £34.

Poet laureate Simon Armitage will be performing live with his band LYR at St Mary’s Art Centre in Sandwich on Friday, December 4. Also featuring producer PJ Pearson and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Richard Walters, the band will perform songs from their new album Dark Sky Reservation. Tickets £25

For Ramsgate Day on Saturday, August 15, the town will be turning into a circus. Inspired by Ramsgate’s connection to Sanger’s Circus, there will be a programme of free family-friendly activities, performances and workshops across the town centre. More details

New Mayor of Margate Leo Britcher will be leading a guided tour of the town on Wednesday, July 29 to celebrate Margate Charter Day. The evening walk will mark 169 years since Margate gained its Charter. You’ll learn about the town’s history before stopping on the Main Sands steps to watch the sunset. Everyone on the tour will then be treated to a free drink at Barnacles. Tickets £20

Local writer Dan Higgins will be discussing his new book Lords of the Ring at Fort Road Hotel in Margate on Thursday, July 9. He’ll be discussing the world of professional wrestling and how it impacts the political, social and cultural landscape with Dan Schreiber. Free tickets

Culty Film Club returns to Faith in Strangers in Cliftonville on Wednesday, July 8 for a screening of Big Trouble in Little China. Before watching the John Carpenter classic, you’ll be treated to a three course meal, and test your movie knowledge in a quiz. Tickets £57

If you missed out on tickets to comedian Paddy Young’s show at Where Else in Margate later this year - good news. Due to demand, the show has moved to the larger Drill Shed venue. It will now take place on Thursday, November 26. Tickets for the original September date remain valid. Tickets £18.50.
