Margate Winter Gardens will be opening up its gardens on Saturday and Sunday for a weekend of fun. On Saturday, there will be live music, DJs, performances, food and pop-up bars. Sunday will be family focussed, with giant bubbles, balloon modelling, puppets, storytellings, martial arts, yoga and more. Free entry. 

The Palace cinema in Broadstairs will be screening David Byrne’s incredible American Utopia on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets £9.

Good Good Film Club will be showing “a moody New York lesbian drama” as its next secret film screening. On at Margate Arts Club on Wednesday, September 2 you’ll have the usual option of having a pizza delivered to your seat before the film starts. And sticking around for a casual chat afterwards is also encouraged. Tickets £5 (or £15 with pizza).
