Ramsgate Day, a strawberry festival, Jimmy Carr, alt karaoke and more. Lots to do in Thanet and beyond this week.

Margate Old Town ice cream parlour Follow the Swirl has announced its first ever Strawberry Festival, from Monday until July 14.

Sea Spirit and Stones will host a women’s circle on Wednesday at Stone Bay. Not sure what a woman’s circle is? It’s a little bit of woo-woo that helps you to feel good about yourself by setting some intentions, cleansing those chakras, and letting go of stuff that doesn’t serve you, amongst other fairly abstract but lovely things. The session is held on the beach, from 7pm to 10pm, and tickets are £35

Alternative karaoke night I’m Not Karaokay is back taking place at Where Else in Margate on Thursday. You’ll be able to sing all your favourite punk, rock and metal songs to an eager crowd. Tickets £10

The Deal Music and Arts Festival runs from Thursday until July 13, featuring classical music, theatre, literary talks, film and more, in venues across Deal, Sandwich and Dover. Check out the full line up

Margate’s original taco joint Dive is turning five. Head to the harbour arm on Friday from 6pm-9pm for £5.55 margaritas and taquitos.

Scene Change comes to Where Else for a night of dancing, disco and detours on Friday from 9pm. Not your average club night, somehow the crowd calls the shots over the direction the music takes. Probably, if not definitely, better experienced than explained.

Jimmy Carr brings his stand up to Canterbury, cracking savage jokes over two nights on Friday and Saturday. Tickets for that are £38

MOP pops up at High Dive on Margate High Street over two nights Friday and Saturday to plate up a Mexican inspired menu. Places are £38

Wine and music festival Low Margate returns for its second year from Friday to Sunday across more than 20 venues for tastings, live music, dinners, talks and fun stuff. Tickets £30

Art gallery Quench in Cliftonville holds a coffee morning to explain more about its new programme for working class artists living in Thanet on Saturday from 10am-12pm. Free tickets

Bask in the glory of Ramsgate with Ramsgate Day on Saturday, 10am-5pm. Look out for the vintage trail, film screenings and stuff for kids and teens, including a market featuring the works of talented young people. There will be music, arts, a BBQ at Slice, and a slew of independent businesses getting in on the action. On all around Ramsgate town centre, and along Addington Street.

Windmill Community Gardens host a Very Hungry Caterpillar Picnic on Sunday, 1pm-3pm. Families can get stuck into caterpillar crafts, a bug hunt, make a fruit salad to share and read stories in the garden. Tickets from £2 or £10 for families.
