Test your beer knowledge, relive a 1965 cinema screening, network with creative industry bigwigs, and more. Here's what's going on in Margate, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and further afield this week.

Extreme metal legends Cradle Of Filth play Hall by the Sea at Dreamland in Margate on Tuesday. Tickets £31.80.

Ramsgate Community Cinema puts on Blue Road: The Edna O’Brien Story on Wednesday at 7pm. The 2024 documentary features the 93-year-old Irish writer who recounts her extraordinary life filled with affairs, writing and stardom. Doors open 30 minutes before screening and tickets are sold on a pay-what-you-can-afford basis. 

Creative sector conference UK Creative Festival is back at Dreamland on Wednesday and Thursday. Tickets £150

Comedians Seann Walsh and Peter Rethinasamy will perform work in progress shows at Olby’s in Margate on Wednesday. Tickets £16.38

The Fermentorium in Ramsgate will host a beer quiz on Wednesday. £15 per person (including two beers). DM to book.

Architecture debate series The Negroni Talks is coming to Gather& in Ramsgate on Thursday, debating what needs to happen to help the town achieve its full potential. Tickets from £16.96 (including a negroni).

Branching out of Margate, Pomus opens its new restaurant in the old Brewery Tap on Tontine Street in Folkestone on Thursday. 

Golden Globe winner Rosamund Pike will make her National Theatre debut in Inter Alia. The play will run in the Lyttelton theatre from Thursday to September 13. Tickets from £10.

Broadstairs’ Palace Cinema turns 60 on Friday. To mark the occasion it’ll be recreating its opening in 1965 with a matinee screening of the Wizard of Oz. There will be more screenings over the weekend and free talk on the history of the cinema on Saturday. Full details

Neptunes Choir will perform their summer concert at Holy Trinity Church in Broadstairs on Friday. The event will raise money for local charity The Gap Project. Tickets £14.25.

Canterbury Children's Literature Festival takes place from Friday to Saturday. There’s a brilliant programme of events around the city and at the Wildwood wildlife park. Full details

Deal Pride takes place on Saturday, with a march at 11am and an evening party at The Astor. There are also various pre-Pride events happening over the course of this week. Find out more.

The Port of Dover Regatta is set to return this year on Saturday and Sunday, with boat races and other sea-based displays, live music, food and gift stalls. Full details.
