Stand up comedy in a cinema, wolf pup life drawing, a night where small talk is banned and more. Here are our picks for what's happening in Thanet and beyond this week.

The Palace Cinema in Broadstairs hosts Chump’s Comedy on Wednesday, with stand up sets from Paul Foot, Alexandra Haddow and Andy Field. Tickets £15

Wild Life Drawing is back at Gather& in Ramsgate on Wednesday. This time around the models will be wolf pups. Tickets £35 with 10% donated to Wolf Watch UK.

Margate Assembly is back at Off Licence in Cliftonville on Wednesday. Performing this month are Moss.E, The Tender Mercys and Ffogg. Suggested donation £7. 

Hate small talk? Head to Depths at Olby’s on Thursday where there will be none. It’ll be a night of deep conversations with guided prompts. Free but book

Authors and broadcasters Tash Walker and Adam Zmith discuss their book The Log Books: An Intimate History of Queer British Voices and the Helpline That Listened at CAMP on Thursday. Free tickets

Margate has a new quiz on its busy trivia night calendar. The first edition of the Lovers & Quarrels quiz will take place at Cinque Ports on Thursday (and every last Thursday of the month) focussing on famous romances and break ups. It starts at 7.30pm and entry is £3 per person.

Margate’s Turner Contemporary will host a panel discussion on Friday celebrating ten years of Margate Pride. Robert Diament will lead the talk with past and present directors Dan Chilcott, Tryg Verran, Mia Pollak and Amy Redmond. Tickets £5

Independent music festival You Are Here takes place at The Gulbenkian in Canterbury from Friday to Sunday, curated by nine East Kent promoters. Tickets £30

The Tate Modern in London’s new Tracey Emin exhibition opens on Friday, featuring work from across her 40 year career some of which has never before been exhibited. Tickets £20.

The Sunken Garden in Westbrook is holding a seed swap event on Saturday. More details

Mermaid Chunky will play Where Else in Margate on Saturday. Tickets £15

The Cookie Man hosts the first monthly Cookie Social at Lowlife in Cliftonville on Saturday from 11am to 3pm. There will be cookies and activities to keep the kids occupied while you eat them. 

Jonny Woo performs his new show Suburbia at the Alley Bar in Ramsgate on Saturday. Tickets £20 for the matinee or evening performances. 

Lucy Taylor, Rosko Piko and Morrison Ford play the opening night of new Ramsgate venue Downstairs, in the basement of the Bedford Inn on Saturday. Tickets £10

The inaugural edition of the Comedy Store’s new regular night at Dreamland is on Saturday with performances from Joe Wells, Kate Lucas, Paul Thorne and Rory O’Hanlon. Tickets £19.80.

Getdown Services play Booking Hall in Dover on Sunday. Tickets £18.
