We had the pleasure of hosting some friends who haven’t been down this way for five years last weekend. They’ve always enjoyed coming here but kept enthusing about how much Thanet has changed since they were last here.

That is one of the things that makes writing this newsletter so exciting. This place is ever changing, and continues to punch above its weight when it comes to its cultural offerings. For a weekend visitor, the choice isn’t what to do but what to leave out. The same is true for people who live here, of course, as new and exciting things continue to land on our doorsteps.

Now, while the weather's gone a little bit will it/won’t it, that doesn’t change the fact that the bank holiday weekend is here. And speaking of potential choice paralysis, there is a heck of a lot going on if you’re looking for things to do.

So much choice is there, in fact, that we’re re-running our guide to what’s on over this weekend and into the bank holiday Monday. We added so much to the list over the last week, it seemed appropriate to highlight it once again.

As well as that, we’ve got even more things to do in the days following the bank holiday and through the coming months, including a new seafood restaurant opening for Ramsgate, an update on Cliftonville’s massive new skatepark, this year’s Margate Bookie literary festival and more.
