News Blast: Venue changes on Cliftonville's Marine Terrace
The latest creative and cultural news from Thanet and beyond, including Daisy's closure and Fusion's proper opening

Changes afoot on Marine Terrace as Daisy announces its closer and Fusion gains a licence. This and more news from across Thanet and further afield.
Cocktail bar Daisy on Cliftonville’s Marine Terrace is set to close later this month. Owner Felix Cohen announced on social media this week that the decision had been made “due to some health issues”. The bar will be open as normal until bank holiday Monday, August 25, where punters will be invited to drink the bar dry. After that, the space will be used by Cohen’s Manhattan’s Project business to make canned cocktails that will be available in bars around Thanet and via mail order.
Also on Marine Terrace, controversial nightclub Fusion has been granted a licence by Thanet District Council. Numerous concerns over noise and anti-social behaviour have been raised by local residents and businesses. However, at a hearing this week the council said that there had been “no evidence of persistent or serious issues” while the venue had been operating on temporary licences. Its previous licence application was rejected on fire safety grounds. A maximum capacity of 100 has now been agreed with Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
