Courtney Barnett is set to play Where Else in Margate on Thursday, April 2. And yes, I have double and triple checked that what I just wrote is true. The show will come hot on the heels of the release of her fourth album Creature of Habit, which is out on March 27. Once again, Courtney Barnett is playing Where Else. Also, it sold out in about three seconds, but the waiting list is right there.
Vaults Comedy is back at Ramsgate Arts Club on Thursday, March 5 with a great line up featuring Siskia, Josh Weller, Lucy Frederick and Joe Bor. Tickets £18.
Women-only social group Gal & Gather celebrates its first birthday this spring. There’ll be a special birthday meet up at Flowers & Felicities in Broadstairs on Saturday, April 18. As well as the chance to meet new friends, there will be a dried blossom bouquet making workshop and Fancy Nancy themed afternoon tea. Tickets £50.
For International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, Stakehaus in Margate is putting on a fundraising dinner in aid of Everyday Racism and Not A Phase. Taking place from 5-8pm, you’ll get a welcome drink and three courses, as well as bingo and other chances to win prizes and support the two charities. Veggie and vegan options available. Book now.
Acclaimed theatre maker Alexis Gregory brings his new play Smoke to Ark in Cliftonville on Thursday, May 14. In the comic-thriller, Alex wakes up to fine an Instagram message from his boyfriend. But his boyfriend died two years ago. What initially appears to be an easily explained hack unravels into something else. The show will be followed by a panel discussion on the themes of the play hosted by LGBTQ+ organisation You Are Loved. Tickets £14.
Ramsgate’s excellent Fermentorium marks its first birthday next month. Drop in to the bar on Saturday, March 14 to raise a glass in celebration.
The Resonant Coast new music night will be back at Ramsgate Arts Club on Sunday, April 26. It will feature a headline set from ‘ghost rock’ project Alex Rex, plus cellist Francesca Ter-Berg, and ambient duo Adam Coney and Richard Pike. Tickets £8.
ARK in Cliftonville invites you to Feel The Beat on Saturday, April 11. The participatory dance show will get you up and moving, exploring sensory ways to dance. There will be two performances at 11am and 7.30pm, with children over six welcome to join as well as adults. Tickets £14.
Artist Stuart Rayner will open a new exhibition titled Arse End of Nowhere at Projects Kavel Rafferty in Margate on Saturday, March 7 until Sunday, March 22. Taking its name from a phrase often used to dismiss rural places as remote or insignificant, the exhibition will explore folklore, queerness, and personal narrative through contemporary landscape painting.
PP Arnold will be appearing at The Booking Hall in Dover on Wednesday, April 15 for a night interweaving performances of her greatest hits and stories from her six decade career. Tickets £30.
If you’re looking for something to do with your mum on Mothers Day on Sunday, March 15, Pierremont Hall in Broadstairs is putting on Mums and Mimosas. As well as drinking mimosas, you and your mum will be able to make windowsill herb planters. Tickets £20. Email events@broadstairs.gov.uk to book.
Alternatively, you could take your mum for a roast at the Nao rooftop bar on top of Ramsgate’s Granville Theatre. Bottleneck in Broadstairs has announced its first event of 2026, a tasting session with English sparkling wine maker Nyetimber on Thursday, April 16. You’ll sample a range of the company’s wines while nibbling on cheese and charcuterie. Tickets £40.
