There's lots of comedy, music and film on the way over the next few months, plus a day of altar-making and the opportunity to run through the streets of Broadstairs flipping a pancake.
The Adam Buxton Band will be performing at Dreamland in Margate on Wednesday, May 13. Led by the much-loved comedian with members of Metronomy, the band will perform tracks from Buxton’s debut album Buckle Up, which was released last year. Tickets £30.32.
Felicity Ward headlines the Vaults comedy night at Ramsgate Arts Club on Thursday, February 5. Also performing will be Jamie Finn, Cecily Hitchcock, and Darran Griffiths. Tickets £18.
The Broadstairs Charity Pancake Race is back on Saturday, February 14. This year the event will raise money for the installation of a defibrillator at Louisa Bay. Entry is £4 for adults (includes a hot drink) and £3.50 for kids (includes a goodie bag). Frying pans and pancakes provided. Register at the Old Curiosity Shop.
The Gulbenkian in Canterbury has announced new three day independent music festival You Are Here, taking place from February 27 to March 1. The programme will be curated by nine East Kent promoters, with performers including Avalanche Kaito, Chewy She, Shelf Lives and more. The venue will also show a selection of music documentaries in its cinema. Tickets £30.
Spend a day making your own altar to celebrate the things that matter most to you with A Day in Clay at Ramsgate Pottery on Sunday, March 8. Ceramicists Gillian Farrell and Vivienne Yankah will guide you through the process, while chef Eleanor Yankah will keep you well fed. Places £120.

Culty Film Club will be taking over Where Else in Margate for a screening of Spinal Tap 2: The End Continues on Tuesday, January 27. Consider yourself a true Tap fan? There will also be a quiz to separate the freak gardening accidents from the jazz odysseys before the movie plays. Tickets £8.
Mr Scruff will be DJing at Margate Arts Club on Friday, January 30 as part of his Miniature Arena Tour in support of Music Venue Trust and Save Our Scene. £1 from each ticket will go to the charities’ LiveLine Fund. Tickets £21.
