Lots of great music, top comedians, a potentially tangental artist interview and more. Our picks of things to do in Margate, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and London this week.

Math-punk quartet University play Where Else on Tuesday. Tickets £11.85

We Are Here Coffee is hosting a caffeine-celebrating soiree at Lowlife Margate on Wednesday from 5pm until late.

Stand up comedian Judi Love will be performing a work-in-progress show at Olby’s in Margate on Wednesday. Tickets £19.06.

Artist Anna Boghiguian will be in conversation with Nabila Abdel Nabi, curator of international art at Tate Modern, at the Turner Contemporary on Thursday. The plan is to discuss the themes and inspirations for her Turner Contemporary exhibition The Sunken Boat: A Glimpse Into Past Histories, although they may just end up chatting about cigarettes and Egyptian food. Either way, worth the entry price. Tickets £10

Rock band Debdepan’s female-led open mic night Fresh Out The Pan returns to Justines in Margate on Thursday. Free Entry. 

Lou Sanders will be bringing her new show No Kissing in the Bingo Hall to Ramsgate’s Granville Theatre on Friday. Tickets £21.83

Legendary reggae DJ David Rodigan will be at Faith In Strangers to play an extended set on Friday. Tickets £20.40

The Teenage Market will have 31 stalls run by young local business owners, aged eight to 24, at Pierremont Park in Broadstairs on Saturday, 11am-5pm.

Margate Arc will be hosting a talk on history of the town, the people who have lived in it, and its street names at Northdown Brewery on Saturday. Free tickets

The V&A Museum in London opens a new exhibition exploring the life and style of Marie Antoinette on Saturday. Tickets £25

Margate Assembly hosts an all-dayer at Margate Yacht Club on Saturday, with live performances from Diet Jesus, Jack Goldstein, Lo Barnes, Meg Bird, Roleplay, SoulArk Ensemble, TEZ, and Xav Clarke. Tickets £38.94

The Fermentorium in Ramsgate hosts Lagerfest from Saturday until September 28. Head over for new season lagers, classically brewed german beers and pours by UK breweries. 

The opening reception for this year’s Lido Open at Lido Stores in Margate takes place on Saturday from 7-9pm. Over 100 artists are participating in the exhibition this year. 

Dreamland hosts a print fair from midday to 6pm on Sunday, featuring exclusive prints and editions from Margate-based artists, including Hayden Kays, David Shillinglaw, Mercedes Lucy and Charlie Evaristo-Boyce. The event is also being filmed for an upcoming TV series, fame fans. 

The Sunken Garden Eco Fair is set to return on Sunday from 11am to 4.30pm at Westbrook’s Sunken Gardens. See the full programme.

Tonetic Records heads to Ramsgate Music Hall to put on an all-ages label showcase on Sunday. Acts include alt rock five-piece Take Too and singer-songwriter Moss E. Tickets are a suggested £10.
