What's on in Margate, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and further afield this week. Craft, classical music, theatre, art, clubbing, workshops and more.

Margate Pride will host a scrap swap at Margate Arts Club on Wednesday. Head down to swap arts and craft supplies of any kind and join crafty workshops. The event will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. 

The Totally Classical open mic night celebrates its second anniversary at Rosslyn Court on Wednesday. Head down to perform or just enjoy some classical music. Free entry.

Making More Waves festival is on at ARK in Cliftonville from Wednesday to Sunday, showcasing performances created in Kent and Essex. See the full programme and book tickets

Chef Thom Eagle gets funky at Cantina Caruso in Margate’s Old Town on Thursday, 6.30pm-8.30pm with a fermenting workshop. It’s £60 a head and you can bring your own jars, or buy them there. Email reservations@bottegacaruso.com to book. 

Jonny Woo’s alternative performance, comedy and drag extravaganza Un-Royal Variety returns for a three night run at Soho Theatre Walthamstow from Thursday to Saturday. Tickets £30

Artist Louisa Longstaff-Scales captures sea and skyscapes in her solo exhibition Borrowed Light. On at Lido Stores from Thursday to November 29, with an opening reception Saturday, 7pm-9pm, Louisa muses on the continual evolution and change of coastal landscapes, “exploring the idea of nature as a metronome that sets the pace of our lives”.

Candlelit classical performance night Lumos is Holy Trinity church in Broadstairs on Friday performing instrumental arrangements of Coldplay songs. Tickets from £20

Psychedelic and dub-centric party night Bis! Bis! Bis! will take over Margate Arts Club on Friday. DJs Nina Yamada and Bror Havnes will join Margate locals Jaime Rosso & Vandorta for a night of fun and cosmic tunes. Tickets £5.

New arts organisation Common Grounding is holding a launch party at Sunflower House in Folkestone on Friday. Free entry.

New restaurant Willy’s opens at Margate House Hotel on Saturday. Follow on Instagram for updates

Father JC will be hosting a weekend drag workshop on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets £1-20.

The Falstaff on Addington Street in Ramsgate will be holding a craft fair on Sunday from 11am to 5pm.
