What a week it's been, kept on the edge of our seats wondering if we'd get the outcome we wanted. Glimmers of hope mixed with moments of trepidation. But finally we know - the heatwave has not come to an end just yet. There was something else too, but I forget what it was now.
No, of course I remember. England's big showdown. By which I obviously mean this month's Kent Whisky Explorers night at Little Swift in Margate. The intimate, friendly event pitted six English and Indian whiskies against each other, with attendees voting on their favourite at the end of the night.
Every dram was excellent and it was tough to pick a favourite. For me though, the East London Liquor Co Islay Single Malt just pipped the Amrut Single Malt. Although the overall vote went the other way. It was looking good for a while, but England just lost out at the last minute.
