Stand up comedian Lou Sanders has announced that a film of her latest show No Kissing In The Bingo Hall will be streaming on Amazon Prime from October 22. The show was filmed last year at the Granville Theatre in Ramsgate.

Thanet District Council is inviting proposals for the redevelopment of Marina Car Park 3 on Marina Esplanade in Ramsgate. The site was earmarked for disposal by the council earlier this year. Heritage Lab Ramsgate said earlier this year that it was in talks to return it to its former use as an Olympic sized outdoor swimming pool. A spokesperson for the organisation confirmed to Strange Tourist that these talks are ongoing.

Margate-based animation studio A+C Studios is crowdfunding to make six episodes of Muffin Mamma, a new show for pre-school children. “Much of what small children watch now is built to keep them watching,” say the team behind it. “We wanted something slower, made by people who care who is on the other side of the screen.” Find out more and donate. 

Flowers & Felicity’s in Broadstairs is under new management. Iris Nasir, who has been involved with the cafe since it first opened, is now in charge of the operation. She plans to expand the menu, including bringing in new evening offerings of wine and pizza.

Light Up Ramsgate returns this winter, turning Ramsgate town centre into a gallery of light art. Organisers have put out a call for artists to take part. This year’s theme is ‘spark, gather, grow’ and the trail will be on display from December 11 to January 31. The submission deadline is October 23. Full details.

Artist and choreographer Eve Stainton is seeking a small group of Margate-based men to take part in two free workshops later this month, culminating in a live art performance. Participants will work alongside Eve to dismantle and rebuild sections of a wall, using physical tasks developed through the two workshops. The workshops take place on October 24 & 31 with the (paid) performance taking place on November 7. More details.
