News Blast: Opening date for V&A East Museum and more
Creative and cultural news, including the V&A East Museum opening and new food and drink spots in Margate
The V&A East Museum gets an opening date, plus new spots to eat and drink back in Thanet.
Following on from last year’s opening of the V&A East Storeroom (where you’ll find the David Bowie Centre), V&A East Museum will open in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday, April 18 next year. Encompassing art, design, fashion, music and performance, the museum will be flavoured with East London culture. Alongside the two free permanent exhibitions that will feature a number of new acquisitions, the museum opens with the exhibition, The Music is Black. Find out more.
New Cuban themed bar Little Havana has opened in Cliftonville, serving up drinks and tapas. Find it on Northdown Parade, in between Picnic and Cliftonville Dining Room.
Chix Stock moves out of Cinque Ports in Margate this week, as owners Billy Stock and Ellie Topham prepare to open new pub The Wellington in the Old Town. Taking over the kitchen at Cinque Ports will be Stakehaus, adding a Margate outpost to its line up of restaurants in London and Brighton. It’ll officially begin serving on Thursday, November 20. Head down that night for steak (obviously) and karaoke hosted by ELZ.
