Tiffany Stevenson delivering the laughs in Ramsgate, Eurovision screening parties, and Easter weekend beer festival and more. Lots of upcoming things to do in Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs.
The next Vaults Comedy night takes place at Ramsgate Arts Club on Thursday, April 2. Tiffany Stevenson will headline, with Father JC, Joe Sutherland, and John Tothill also on the bill. Tickets £18.
Ramsgate Arts Club will be putting on Eurovision screenings this May, where you can watch local lad Look Mum No Computer represent the UK. He already has a guaranteed place in the grand final, but you’ll be able to watch the semi-finals in the bar on May 12 and 14, before the main event on Saturday, May 16. Free tickets.
The Gadds Easter Beer Festival is set for Good Friday and Easter Saturday. As well as Gadds’ own brews, the two day festival will showcase a selection of ales from the west of England. There will be live music from The Johnny Dogs on Friday, April 3 and Gaddzukes on Saturday, April 4. Find it at Ramsgate Brewery on the Pyson's Road Industrial Estate in Broadstairs. Full details.
Comedian Adam Morrison Jones will be performing his new work in progress show Moves at Salt in Broadstairs on Saturday, May 16. Tickets £11.92.
The Psychedelic Society will be hosting a speed-friending and psychedelic storytelling night at Bar Nothing in Cliftonville on Tuesday, March 31. Guided prompts will get you chatting to new chumps, then you can all hang out for the open mic afterwards. Tickets £15.
The Drill Shed in Cliftonville will be hosting an over 30s afternoon indie disco on Sunday, May 3. You’ll have the bank holiday Monday to recover, but as it’ll all be over by 7pm, you probably won’t need to. Brought to you by indie club promoters Feeling Gloomy, Age Against The Machine and Old School Indie, there will be a strict no young people door policy. ID will be checked if you look too fresh in the face. Tickets £10.71.
The next Wild Life Drawing session has been announced at Fort Road Hotel in Margate on Thursday, April 9. Modelling this time will be a group of rescued reptiles - snakes, lizards, and tortoises. All abilities are welcome, with children over eight years old welcome if accompanied by an adult. As well as drawing them, you’ll learn all about the animals too. Tickets £35 with a 10% donation to animal charity Happy Endings Rescue.

Artist Gaby Sahhar will be screening their new film Abstraction Belongs To Us at Quench in Cliftonville on Sunday, March 29. Set between London and Paris, the film explores how queer Palestinians navigate the complex intersections of national identity and sexuality. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Gaby Sahhar. Free tickets.
New family pop-up market Turn the Tide will launch at Margate’s Turner Contemporary on May 30-31. Set up by Rebecca Gonsalves and Francesca Fox, founders of Kinder Collective in Broadstairs, the market will feature ethical kidswear brands, local artists and craft-makers. Margate’s TKE Studios has announced two new exhibitions opening next month. The Journey by Jack Hirons will showcase paintings completed during the artist’s year as the Dame Tracey Emin Fellow. Johnnie Shand Kydd’s exhibition Ramsholt will display work created with analogue cameras and film on a particular stretch of Suffolk landscape. They will have a shared preview from 6-8pm on Saturday, April 18 and remain on display until Sunday, June 7.
Yummy Cliftonville Cuban restaurant Little Havana hosts an Easter Sunday roast, with two courses for £30. You’ve got a spiced leg of lamb or a pimento, black bean and almond roast, both served with Latin-inspired trimmings. Dessert looks equally flavoursome, with the option of a dark chocolate parfait or rum and ginger cake to finish with. Make your meal selection at the time of booking.
