If you’re into emo and pop-punk, grab tickets for the Beers & Tears festival at Curious Brewing in Ashford on Saturday, August 23. Headlined by Suds, other acts on the bill include The Young Hearts, Loose Leaf and Had Sandy. Live music from 2-8pm, then DJs until late. Free entry

The Herne Bay Cartoon Festival is set to run in venues around the town from August 1-14. There will be exhibitions, workshops and live drawing demonstrations. Full details to come, but you can book into some free events now

The definitely legendary Jah Wobble is coming to Margate for a show with his band The Invaders of the Heart at Where Else on Friday, October 10. Their reputation for great live shows precedes them and this one will sell out, so don’t hang around. Tickets £28.59.

Independent Broadstairs hosts its next day celebrating home grown shopping, drinking and dining across the town on Saturday, June 28. A long list of independent shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and galleries will be putting on special activities throughout the day. Follow on Instagram for updates

Golden Globe winner Rosamund Pike will make her National Theatre debut this season in Inter Alia. The play is a “searing examination of motherhood and modern masculinity”, and will run in the Lyttelton theatre from July 10 to September 13.  It will also be broadcast through National theatre Live, screening in cinemas from September 25. Tickets from £10.

Neurodivergent Friends in Thanet will launch a new monthly night called Creative Connection Club at Queens Road Baptist Church in Broadstairs on Thursday, June 12. The first edition will be a workshop exploring the everyday environment through the lens of sound and songwriting, led by musician Steph Dickinson, aka KKailou. No musical experience required.
