Following a year off in 2025, the Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival returns for its ninth edition this year, taking place in venues around the town on March 26-29. The programme will contain a mix of feature films, shorts, TV pilots, Q&As and more. The schedule is still TBA. Find out more

A Night for Weird Folk returns to Margate Arts Club on Friday, March 6 with Folkopalypse, a dry run for the end of the world. There will be campfire songs, mask-making, a barn dance, morris dancing and prize for the best apocalypse-themed costume. Due to the cost of setting up a portal to a parallel universe in the venue’s doorway, there will be an entry fee. Tickets £10.

Stand up comedian Daniel Foxx will be performing his new show How Lovely at Where Else in Margate on Thursday, March 5. “Daniel was determined to handle his Big Breakup with the grace of Julia Roberts. He didn’t. Join him as he navigates dating in your 30s, Le Creuset addiction and 12-step skincare routines, all while trying very hard to emanate love and light.” Tickets £20.80.

Good Good Film Club will be screening another mystery movie at Margate Arts Club on Thursday, February 19. This one is for fans of Gravity, Alien and the Blair Witch Project, say organisers. Ticket £5 (or £15 with a pizza).

If you missed Pink Suits’ show Dance Me to the End of Love at Margate’s Quench Gallery in 2024, it is set to be staged again as part of Battersea Art Centre in London’s Bloom Festival on May 16. Roaming around an art installation, the piece explores the artist couple’s relationship to the soundtrack of a Leonard Cohen live album. Tickets from £9.50

Holistic coach Ana Gouveia will lead Inner Lab, a one day wellness retreat at Foreness Waterski & Boat Club in Palm Bay on Saturday, March 21. Aiming to help you reconnect with your body and build self-awareness, the day will feature a mix of lectures, seated meditations, walking meditations, and a humming session. Tickets £80.

Upgrade your old clothes with a new screen print at Where Else in Margate on Friday, February 6 as part of Loose End Studio’s Thank Your God For Cr*p Art screen print and risograph exhibition. Bring a garment, choose a design, print it, walk away looking flash. Or stay for the gig downstairs and walk away looking sweaty. But flash.

Jon Ronson will discuss his new book The Castle at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury on Tuesday, September 29. His first book for 11 years, it sees him attempt to discover what happened behind the walls of a mysterious castle deep in the forests of New England. The live show includes footage - some of it previously lost - to give a deeper insight into the story. Tickets from £34

Currently closed, the Potting Shop in Margate will be opening up on February 13-14 for those last minute Valentine’s gifts. Owner Katie Heward says, “We are very excited to open (even if it is brief) for Valentine’s Weekend! The future is unsure for the shop, so it would be great to catch up with you over these couple of days.”
