Relax into 2026, look ahead to February half time, look even further ahead to a night out... next November? newly announced events to get excited about in Margate, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and beyond.

Don’t want to stay indoors and rot on new year's day? Floating Frequencies pops up at Gather& in Ramsgate for a sound bath to bring on internal balance and rejuvenation, which is probably something we could all do with after December. Led by Eleanor Yankah, who is up on all things Ayurvedic, reiki, and holistic wellbeing, On at 5pm, with tickets £25

The Imagine children’s arts festival returns to London’s Southbank Centre from February 11-21, offering a great programme of half term events. Highlights this year include a sleepover at Royal Festival Hall with Jacqueline Wilson (who will be talking about her Sleepovers book series), the world premiere of Quentin Blake’s new live show Mrs Armitage on Wheels, and Horrible Histories: The Concert putting classic songs from the series on stage. There’s also a huge selection of free events. Check out the full programme

What are you doing for Valentine's Day? Kurtis Blow will be performing at Olby’s in Margate on the big night, celebrating the 45th anniversary of his hit The Breaks. Is that a romantic night out? Yes, it is. Stop asking. Warming things up with be DJ Rob Hardman and DJ Hooch. Tickets £25

Olby’s recently put out a call for people to use its bar area to experiment with event ideas over the winter. The full programme has now been announced and people have really stepped up to the plate. Among our faves happening are Rubbish Shopping Lists on Thursday, February 12 (eco artist and binfluencer Kieran Poole’s comedy show based on 1000 found shopping lists), Depths on Thursday, February 26 (a night of deep conversations with guided prompts and no small talk), and Shronk on Thursday, March 5 (an evening of improvised music with an improvised line up). All events are free. See the full programme

Margate Electronics is going international! Or at least out of Margate. The eleventh edition of the night will take place on Thursday, February 12 in the international city of London. Specifically at the brilliant Cafe Oto in Dalston. The night will also serve at the launch of the new Margate Electronics: Editions record label and its first release, Missing Music 4.0 by Suren Seneviratne. He will be performing a live AV set. YKLU & Danny and Tomas Jefanovas will also perform, while Soborgnost will DJ. Tickets £12

Australian comedian Thomas Green is coming all the way to Margate next year. He lives in London though, he’s not coming all the way across the world. He might as well be, as the show at Dreamland isn’t happening until Friday, November 20. I just check and I’m free that night. Tickets go on general sale on December 19, but you can sign up for a pre-sale on Thursday now.
