[Interview: Lou Sanders on Margate, trampolines and stand upLou Sanders speaks about her memoir, moving to Margate and begrudgingly about trampolines, but not about her stand-up show No Kissing in the Bingo Hall![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/06/39/0639efc0-b873-4e30-ac06-2893b029d0e0/content/images/icon/Strange_Tourist_Vector_DOT_SMALL-abbfa215-d3fc-4866-9681-f98ad5ac93ed.png)Strange Tourist | Thanet culture guideZita Whalley![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/06/39/0639efc0-b873-4e30-ac06-2893b029d0e0/content/images/thumbnail/Lou-Sanders--LouS88292-HI-RES-Copyright-Matt-Stronge-1-db52fac5-ab8c-4b26-abc5-2024b219616a.jpg)](https://www.strangetourist.co.uk/lou-sanders-on-everything-but-her-show-ahead-of-ramsgate-tour-date/)

**Foliage in Broadstairs has announced that it will close** after a deal to sell the business fell through. **The lease is now available for a new business** to take over and the cafe will remain open until a new occupant is found. “This was not an easy decision,” [says owner Kelley Wilson](https://www.instagram.com/p/Der-6VuOWIZ/?ref=strangetourist.co.uk). “We have had a challenging year in our personal life and my family can’t take second place any longer.” [**See the property listing**](https://www.zoopla.co.uk/to-rent/commercial/details/74548079/?ref=strangetourist.co.uk).

**The sale of the Pierremont Park depot was discussed** at Thanet District Council’s overview and scrutiny meeting this week. **The committee recommended that the building should be withdrawn from the council’s asset disposal list** until it can be considered alongside a plan for the whole park. The depot was marked for disposal in 2025 and sold earlier this year. However, [the buyer withdrew in August](https://www.strangetourist.co.uk/news-blast-pierremont-park-depot-buyer-withdraws-from-sale-and-more/). Broadstairs & St Peters Town Council has made several attempts to secure the building for community use, so far without success.
