# News Blast: Margate Winter Gardens renovations granted full planning permission and more

**Margate Winter Gardens** has been granted **full planning permission** for its **£8 million refurbishment plans**. The building is set to be restored and extended, with it set to house a rooftop bar and restaurant, drama school, further education centre and day nursery, as well as its two main venues. "We are thrilled to have received full planning permission for our proposed revival for the Margate Winter Gardens,” says Westwood One Theatre Group director Matt Milchard. “It is going to do so much good for the community and we cannot wait to bring this iconic building back to life."

Efforts to recover a section of **Dane Valley Woods** lost to wildfire this summer have entered the **next phase**. Following work by nearly 50 volunteers to clear the site, plans are in place to create **four new wildflower meadows, establish a new lizard glade, plant 140 metres of hedge, establish a new memorial tree avenue, and create over 300 metres of new paths**. Volunteers can get involved on September 24 and 27, and October 25\. **Cookie Man** has announced that he will publish a **cookbook/memoir hybrid** titled A Bloke Who Baked a Biscuit in time for **Christmas this year**. “It’s honest, funny, a little bit bonkers and packed with the stories behind Cookie Man,” he says. “Plus all the important stuff: THE RECIPES!
