**A new £3.6 million restoration scheme for Margate Museum and Old Town Hall**. The bulk of the funding will come from Thanet District Council, with just under £1 million each from Historic England and the Pride in Place Impact Fund. “For too long, these buildings have been closed to the very people who want to, and should be able to, enjoy them,” says Councillor Ruth Duckworth. "Securing this £3.6 million funding package is a monumental step forward. It’s an opportunity to save our shared heritage and give access back to the community that cares about it most.”

Following a sneak peak for Off Season in January, new **Margate exhibition and event space The Quart has opened on Charlotte Square**. This weekend, it is displaying work by artist Danny Romeril. The key focus of the exhibition is a painting called Mosher Convention, which is accompanied by a new five track EP by the band FLYTIP. Danny will be in conversation with fellow artist Joe Fenwick-Wilson at 2pm on Sunday. [**Follow the venue on Instagram**](https://www.instagram.com/thequartmargate/?ref=strangetourist.co.uk).

**East Kent-made dance film Liminal has been nominated for Best Dance Film at the Folkestone Film Festival**. Directed by Sidonie Carey-Green, and starring dancer Ismael Nchoutnsu Nsangou, with music by composer Hughie Gavin it premiered earlier this year. “Liminal follows an internal journey through the weight of being seen, judged, and acknowledged,” Sidonie told us in an interview back in June. “Using contemporary and Bamoun movement, Ismael Nchoutnsu Nsangou explores the duality of being seen: the mask worn for others, and the one that turns inward when you're alone.”
